Extracting Steps

(KIT STEGROUP)


1) Download the file "QtechHV-v011.dat" onto your Desktop (for example).

 

2) Rename it as;

3) Click the renamed file ("QtechHV-v011.exe") to restore a folder "Qtech-HV v011". It includes 8 files and one "Clip" subfolder underneath. Clip folder contains 3 files. The usage of those files is explained in the readme file (READme-QtechHV-v011.pdf).

 

 

4) Click "Qtechhideview-v011.exe" to start the Qtech Hide & View program.

 

 

5) Click "Information Extracting" button to invoke the extracting window.

 

 

6) If you are extracting the embedded data from "Flying hearts" image (for example) in the page "Sample Stego Image 1", drag & drop the "Flying hearts" onto the central area of  the "Information Extracting" window. If you can't drag it directly, copy it on Desktop first, and then try drag & dropping again.

 

 

7) Click "Extract" button to extract the embedded data. A file (xmas-music.exe) will appear in a second.

 

 

8) Click "xmas-music.exe" to check what happens.

 

<About the Access Key usage>

When you are extracting information from the sample stego images (page 1 or page 2), you are requested, in some case, to use the indicated access keys. If you use such key, the extraction process will go smoothly. However, that key remains in the program after extraction, and it may cause an error to the following extraction process if you don't reset (close and restart) the program.
